Mission
Spend a Night at the Bar with the Kilted
Kilt Con is the brain child of Rick Baldwin and Cheri Brown, hosts of the former podcast LifeinaKiltPodcast. The idea of Kilt Con is to have a simultaneous convention across the nation, if not the world. Kilt Con is hosted on April 6th, to help draw attention to Tartan Day.
Tartan Day was publicly proclaimed by George W. Bush on April 2, 2008. However, the day was being celebrated by thousands of individuals with Scottish heritage prior to the date. The day itself is meant to draw attention to the accomplishments of the Scotts to the world at large.

If there is any one mandatory rule for Kilt Con Events, it is this one. Why have a Kilt Con Event if you aren’t going to celebrate kilts, right? So, break out the kilts, people! Now, how you do that is completely at your own discretion. Traditional, contemporary, tartan, utility, punk, fashion, fantasy, leather. But by no means is wearing a kilt mandatory. If you don't own a kilt, and want to attend? By all means, the more the Merrier!
